KIMBERLEY GRAVES
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kimberley Graves is a veteran educational leader with over 25 years of experience in public education, currently serving as the Chief of School Support for Arlington Public Schools since 2021. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and direct support to school principals, fostering high-quality instruction, inclusive practices, and strong school-community partnerships to ensure student success.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Graves served with distinction as principal of both Dr. Charles R. Drew and Hoffman-Boston Elementary Schools in Arlington, where her leadership was instrumental in earning the Virginia Distinguished Award of Excellence. She also served as principal of Jefferson-Houston PreK–8 School in Alexandria, where she led the transition from an elementary to a K–8 model, and worked as an associate principal at T.C. Williams High School.
Her career began as a high school social studies teacher and assistant principal in Alexandria City and Williamsburg-James City County Schools, where she was recognized for her commitment to equity and student-centered learning.
Ms. Graves holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
Among her many honors, Ms. Graves was named Arlington Public Schools’ Principal of the Year by The Washington Post in 2018 and recognized as Educator of the Year by Phi Delta Kappa and American University in 2021. Her dedication to service has also earned her recognition as one of Alexandria's Top Ten Most Influential People.
She remains a passionate advocate for student achievement, leadership development, and equity in education.
