NANCY WHITE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Nancy White has been a proud resident of Arlington since 1988, where she built her career, raised her family, and formed lasting friendships. After a diverse and fulfilling professional journey, she retired in 2024 and is now honored to serve on the Leadership Center of Arlington Board of Directors.
From 2015 to 2024, Dr. White served as President and CEO of Arlington Free Clinic. In this role, she led a volunteer-driven, multidisciplinary medical home that served nearly 1,500 ethnically diverse, low-income, uninsured individuals. Many of these patients faced chronic health conditions, life-threatening illnesses, and the complex social and economic factors that affect health outcomes. Under her leadership, the clinic thrived thanks to the generosity and dedication of the Arlington community.
Before joining the clinic, Dr. White was Executive Vice President for Professional Affairs at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She also practiced for 30 years in Northern Virginia as a physical therapist and was a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. During her clinical career, she founded the physical therapy program at Arlington Free Clinic—a service that continues to provide essential care to this day. As a long-standing APTA member, she held multiple volunteer leadership roles, including Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
Dr. White holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marymount University, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University. She is thoroughly enjoying retirement, where she spends her time volunteering, exploring the outdoors, and pursuing new interests.
