Local Leadership Programs Celebrated Commencement, Ethics Award Presented to Accenture’s Marty Rodgers

Arlington, VA – Leadership Center for Excellence celebrated the graduation of 83 established and emerging leaders from its 2019 Leadership Arlington and Young Professionals programs at an event held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the Westin Arlington Gateway.

The Leadership Center for Excellence Torch Award for Ethics, sponsored by Dominion Energy, was presented to Martin W. Rodgers, Office Managing Director for Accenture’s Metro Washington, D.C. Office, and Southeast Managing Director for Health and Public Service.

In accepting the award, Mr. Rodgers called on Leadership Center graduates to be ethical leaders, “Leadership calls us to be of service. To be other-centered and not self-centered, to be we centered, not me centered.”

The participants of the Young Professionals Program Class of 2019 met for eight months, learning to expand their footprint in the community, connect with established community leaders, develop an awareness of community needs, and cultivate new leadership skills.

The Leadership Arlington Class of 2019 completed a nine-month program designed to strengthen their knowledge of the greater Arlington community through an experiential issue-based and skill-building curriculum. Participants represent leaders from the private, nonprofit, and public sectors.
