Avril Ussery Sisk has a strong record of leadership in large and mid-size government, business, and nonprofit organizations as well as consulting experience in both Japan and the United States. She combines governance and ethics expertise, employee relations, community engagement successes, and extensive legal background with a track record of achieving first-rate strategic and business alignment.

An attorney with more than 30 years of professional and community leadership, Avril currently serves on the Board of Managers, NextUP Solutions LLC, and Chairs the Arlington County (VA) Economic Development Commission (EDC). She has earned Directorship Certification, National Association of Corporate Directors and is certified through the Ethics and Compliance Initiative. Her major emphases include governance and ESG principles, as well as the transformation of work and the competition for talent.

Avril is an accomplished, multi-disciplined enterprise risk manager and leadership professional in ethics and compliance, with government and regulatory, business, public affairs, and legislative experience. A former North Carolina State Court judge, Avril is currently ethics counsel at the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She has consulted with private businesses and her career has included a variety of leadership roles in public policy and state government.
