Volunteer Arlington Presents 2026 Beloved Community Award

2026 Beloved Community Award: Camille SA Watkin

Arlington, VA – Volunteer Arlington selected Camille S.A. Watkin as the fourth recipient of its Beloved Community Award and will present the award at the MLK Day of Service opening program on Monday, January 19, 2026.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of a beloved community in which everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate. The Beloved Community Award recognizes an exemplary leader who embodies this vision.

Volunteer Arlington is honored to recognize Camille S.A. Watkin, Community Readiness Unit and Re-Entry Program Manager at Arlington County Sheriff’s Office.

“Camille Watkin dedicates her life to offering dignity to all,” said Lisa Fikes, President and CEO of the Leadership Center of Arlington. “Recognizing a need to serve those who are transitioning back into the community after incarceration, Camille offers hope, empathy, and motivation to every incarcerated individual she encounters. She works to create a beloved community for those within the Detention Center while also empowering each person to do the same when they reenter the general community.”

Please join us on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Washington-Liberty High School for the MLK Day of Service opening program, during which Volunteer Arlington will honor Camille S.A. Watkin.
