OUR PROGRAMS

For over 20 years, Leadership Center for Excellence has been at the forefront of community based leadership training. We are proud to be among our nation’s highest regarded leadership centers. Leadership Center for Excellence offers a multitude of programs for personal and professional development for any stage of the leadership continuum. By developing trained leaders who are committed to building, supporting and strengthening our region, we foster a sense of community, visionary leadership, partnership and collaboration that motivates participants to become agents of change. Leadership Center for Excellence has graduated more than 1,500 leaders representing over 600 organizations across the region.

Leadership Arlington is a nine-month program for established leaders, designed to strengthen and build community through an experiential issue-based and skill-building curriculum. Each class is comprised of approximately 50 leaders from the private, nonprofit and public sectors to ensure diverse perspectives and opportunities for personal and professional development.

The Ignite Young Professionals Program is an initiative of the Leadership Center for Excellence which invests in high-potential leaders in the DC Metropolitan area. This program provides the opportunity to develop new professional skills and capacities, while also acquiring the tools, visibility and network necessary to engage in their broader community.

The Institute brings everyone into the definition of diversity to consider how differences in race, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, geographic orientation, culture, knowledge, experience and perception impact the lives of individuals and enterprises and how prepared leaders can leverage these differences in support of their missions.

The Leadership Arlington Youth Program draws on the Center’s deep knowledge and expertise in local leadership and leaders to connect a cohort of special young citizens to the area’s decision-makers and leaders. The rising high school juniors and seniors will be introduced to the latest research on effective leadership, encounter real-world opportunities to practice new skills. Participant mentor relationship will include a job shadowing experience.
