Leadership Arlington Application


The program is designed for experienced leaders who want to significantly increase their impact on their organization and their community.  After 22 years, Leadership Arlington counts many of today’s elected and law enforcement officials, education directors, non-profit groundbreakers, and influential business leaders among its alumni. The ideal candidate profile includes:

  • senior executives
  • presidents and vice presidents
  • executive directors
  • business owners
  • high-level directors and managers, representing all industries and business types within the region
  • individuals of influence with a record of community service


In addition to the twice-a-month program half-days, the class will work in smaller teams on projects to benefit area non-profits. Time will also be spent on one-on-one coaching. Time outside of scheduled program days is required and is estimated to be an additional 20 hours.

The Class of 2021 program dates will be the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month between October-May from 9:00 am- 12:30 pm.


Through the program, participants develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of how the community works, meet with key stakeholders, and learn to leverage their networks and resources to support Arlington’s success.  This program is a master class in Arlington, investigated through the lens of the following topics:

  • Local and State Government - October
  • Economic Development - November
  • Arts & Culture - December
  • Health & Human Service - January
  • Public Safety & Justice – February
  • Education - March
  • Environmental Sustainability – April
  • Inclusiveness and Regionalism – May

Tuition for Leadership Arlington is $4,900.

Tuition is payable by check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.


Leadership Center for Excellence encourages all qualified candidates to apply regardless of financial status. Leadership Arlington provides scholarships to nonprofit and small business executives.


Applications will close when a qualified, diverse class is achieved. Therefore, applicants who believe they meet the criteria are encouraged to apply early.

Statement of Commitment: I understand the mission of Leadership Center for Excellence. If selected, I acknowledge the time commitment (including attendance at the mandatory Opening Retreat) and will pay tuition by July 17, 2020. If I am unable to comply with the requirements, I will voluntarily withdraw from the program. I understand that in the interest of the class experience for all participants, any participant may be removed from the class if, in the opinion of Leadership Center for Excellence, that participant’s conduct is not conducive to the work of the group. I further understand that tuition is not refundable in whole or in part.
